Weather in France depends very much on season and it is very changeably.During winter can be minus 50 °F (in mountains also minus 70 °F). Snow is a common feature of a French winter (in French Alps you found a lot of snow – sometimes more then 15 feet).
During summer there could be up to 95°F (by the sea more then 105°F).
Average temperatures are around 41°F in winter and about 95°F in summer.
The coastal area, as it is situated between the Mediterranean Sea and a mountain range, offers a hot and dry climate. Many hotels and stores are air-conditioned, and in summer this is likely to be a great relief. Make sure you take clothes that are well suited to the heat and take care to avoid becoming dehydrated. Winter is more moderate, but the weather doesn't become excessively cold in any season.
Rain falls consistently throughout the year, with only the occasional northern European heat wave causing prolonged dry periods. It is more usual to experience less rainfall during the winter in France than in spring and summer.
The best season for visiting coastal zones is early or late summer and French Alps or mountains zone naturally in winter (from late October to late March).
Very pleasant is June with average temperature of approximately 75°F. Favorite season for many foreigners is also New Year or Easter.
But all seasons in France are beautiful, you will be only prepared.
