Or relax in lava tide pools along the bay. On beautiful Manele Bay rest from time to time the monk seals and endangered Hawaiian turtles. In ancient Hawaiian fishing village Kaunolu some of the well-preserved ruins and petroglyphs from ancient Hawaii are found. 9-mi adventurous jeep Munro Trail, along a pine-covered ridge, offers many scenic views. The trail climbs the island's highest mountain, Lana'ihale, with altitude 3,370 feet about the sea level.
