 | | Pico Viejo Crater | The biggest of the Canary Islands is Tenerife which offers you many more signs, attractions, towns and varied contrast in comparison with the others islands. It´s the place where during the while you can admire plantations of bananas and shortly after you can throw snowball at each other´s.
 | | Pico de Teide | Mount which I have in my mind is called Teide and its height is 3718 meters and is also the highest mount of Spain. This symbol of the island you can see nearly from any place on the island. Mount Teide and the national park Las Canadas you easily reach in several ways. From freeway it is very well signed via La Orotava but if you come from the North the most picturesque route runs via La Esperanza. While climbing up you will meet magnificent vistas. Mirador Pico de las Flores gives you a marvelous view to the south-west and Mirador de Ortuno gives you a panoramic view to the north seaside. From the highest view point - Mirador Las Cumbres which is about 2000 metres high you can see Teide very clearly. If you follow the road up to the peak you will meet two possibilities how to get there.
 | | Roque de Cinchado | Rice on the mount you can make either on foot through a mountain terrain or by the cable way. Mount Teide is marvelous but it is only the peak of gigantic volcano which exploded a long time ago and leaves a wide caldera after. Los Roques is the place from where you will catch the sight of the caldera the best. Los Roques is a group very nicely shaped pieces of volcanic rocks rising up from the caldera. This is a very popular place to visit and also take a picture. | | Llano de Ucanca | Santa Cruz is the capital and is also an administrative center of western part of the Canaries but is not a place where tourists spend much time. It is a pity however here is not enough tourist attractions and the town does not abound with a particular beauty. But you can find here the original Spanish enchantment. The town is proud of its colonial heritage but at the same time stands strongly in a real world. If you decide to visit Santa Cruz here you have some types which are worth seeing. The city center – Plaza de Espana, Museo Arqueológico, Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes, shopping neighborhood - Mercado de Nuestra Seňora de Africa, Iglesia Matriz de la Concepción and with flowers covered Plaza del General Weyler. The Beach Las Teresitas forms up here a beautiful half moon of gold sand.
 | | Garachico | Puerto de la Cruz can boast neither beaches nor sunshine like many places in the South, in spite of this it is the most common resort for many tourists on the island. Main tourist destinations are here located outside the town. The most popular is Loro Parque with the biggest collection of parrots in the world. It has about 230 species of parrots and is situated in nice subtropical gardens. You have here many other possibilities how to enjoy yourselves. You can visit Loro show, Show Leones Marinos, Show delfines, Natura Vision (wide-screen cinema), Planet Penguin. During your visit to Loro Parque, enjoy a delicious meal from wide choice of restaurants. The oldest attraction is unquestionable Jardín de Botánico established in 1788 along the road to La Orotava. In the area lies thick jungle in which you can discover palms of many species and the main attraction of the park is the big south-american fig tree. | | Masca | To the west from Puerto The whole day trip along the west seaside will provide you with a lot of magnificent views and sceneries on the island. In the middle of banana plantations and vineyards lies sleepy village Icod de los Vinos. Travel agencies include this place to their itinerary because it is famous for the tree Drago Milenario -millennial dragon tree. This botanical curiosity you will find as an amazing discovery even you have already seen it. Before leaving Icod you go through picturesque squares which are well reachable from the tree. Then take western direction from Garachico. After about six kilometers drive you will get to steep slope. When you descend you will be enthusiastic about the view of this compact town, which is situated on a small peninsula and is washed with waves from all its sides. In this aerea is also worth reaching one picturesque mountain village which is called Masca. From this point you will be provided with the best dramatic views. | | Taganana | Northern region La Laguna is the second biggest town on Tenerife and is known fro its cultural and church center. Here you can completely escape from crowds of tourists. Walking along lanes fringed with old houses you may come to either canary yards in Maori style or to beautifully tiled yards with fountains. Tacoronto is known for wine which you can taste in Bodegas Alfaro. This town is as well famous for statuette of Kristus from the 17 century. This statuette adoring under name Cristo de Los Dolores is situated in a local temple of the same name. There is also a beautiful church Iglesia de Santa Catalina from the 16 century. In northern direction of the town in Valle Guerra is possible to visit ethnographical museum Case de Carta.
 | | Taganana | The road passing through a subtropical plateau around La Laguna rises up in a area of a lush vegetation. In Monte de las Mercedes the forest growth forms up a dark world of mighty laurel trees, beech trees and widely growing flowers. At the beginning of the road full of bends you will get a view (mirador) in height of 960 meters in the direction of Pico del Ingles. Look at the north at Punta del Hidalgo where you will catch sight of wide sea and than at the south at the gold sands Las Teresitas. In the north-east of Tenerife, from the point of mirador is situated picturesque village Taganana which is worth going, too. |
