 | | The Eiffel Tower | Parisians frequently say that you can only really live in Paris, everywhere else, you are just vegetating. We skeptical people just sneer resentfully at such a statement, but in the end, all of as will admit that Paris is certainly exceptional. Can we describe why?
Objectively speaking, Paris is the world-famous gallery of the Louvre, the Musee d’Orsay impressionist’s gallery, the unique science museum of La Cite des Sciences et de l’Industrie, Centre Georges Pompidou, the centre of modern art, the Opera Garnier, the Royal Palace and Pantheon.
Paris is also artistic Montmartre, the Place du Tertre, the Latin Quarter, the Seine River and l’Isle du Cite, as well as Sacre-Coeur Cathedral, the Gothic cathedral of Notre-Dame, Saint Chapel, the Luxemburg Palace, les Invalides and City Hall.
Paris is the world-famous Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Boulevard Champs-Elysees, Place de l’Union, the cabaret Moulin Rouge, and the worldly quarter of La Defense.
Paris is also the good music. And where do you find in Paris the best music? Definitely at the top is the Les Bains Douches Club, where you can enjoy excellent sets of hip hop and garage, or maybe Le Gibus, where besides dance parties, they also hold regular evenings of world music and R & B. And the snobs have to be seen at the Rex Club, where the stars of the French dance scene regularly appear.
All this, objectively, is Paris. But are these sights and monuments, places and streets, really Paris? We don’t think so. It has always been, and still is, the special atmosphere, from which no-one who has ever found himself here can escape. Spacious boulevards, elegant houses with typical French windows, bistros, and cafes thrust out into the street, a town centre where people still live, not just offices, the flair of French air kisses, lively conversation and the peculiar exclusiveness of the locals, frequently not dressing according to the dictates of fashion, but always with style.
Maybe we are a bit off, but this is our feeling. What would be best is if you decide to go to Paris yourself and bring back your own impressions, experiences, and adventures. We just venture to suggest that you will want to return.
